How many muslims avoid shirk

This also applies to one who touches a thing seeking its barakah blessing , when Allah has not created any barakah in it, such as kissing the doors of the mosques, touching their thresholds, seeking healing from their dust, and other such actions. This is a brief look at the division of shirk into major and minor. We cannot go into great detail in this short answer. What the Muslim must do is to avoid shirk in both its minor and major forms. The greatest sin is shirk and transgression against the unique rights of Allah, which are to be worshipped and obeyed alone, with no partner or associate.

Hence Allah has decreed that the mushrikeen will abide forever in Hell and has told us that He will not forgive them, and He has forbidden Paradise to them, as He says interpretation of the meaning :.

Every wise and religiously-committed person should fear shirk for himself and should turn to his Lord, asking Him to help him avoid shirk, as al-Khaleel [Ibraaheem — peace be upon him] said:.

The above refers to the difference between major and minor shirk, defining each and describing its types. With regard to the difference between them as far as the ruling is concerned:.

Major shirk puts a person beyond the pale of Islam, so the one who does that is judged to be out of Islam and to have apostatized therefrom, so he is a kaafir and an apostate. Minor shirk does not put a person beyond the pale of Islam, rather it may be done by a Muslim but he still remains in Islam; but the one who does that is in great danger because minor shirk is a major sin.

We ask Allah to make our hearts steadfast in adhering to His religion until we meet Him, and we seek refuge in His Might — may He be glorified — from going astray, for He is the Ever-Living Who never dies, but the jinn and mankind will die. And Allah knows best and is most wise, and to Him is the final return of all.

However, if he does not believe that they have the authority to do so, but still follows them in disobeying Allah, he is committing a sin for which he may be punished according to the gravity of the sin.

If the rule of Allah coincides with their own desires, they will rush to apply it. But if it does not, they will shop around for a fatwa legal ruling that suits their whims.

Eventually they may find a shaykh who will give them the fatwa they desire even though this does not legalise what Allah has forbidden. Unfortunately, we find such shaykhs gaining popularity. They are described to be the ones who are moderate, who are understanding, who can deal with the requirements of modern life when in fact, they are following the desires of the people. They would exert efforts and spend much energy to gain more money and it will never cross their minds to sit at home without working and Allah will provide for them — and they are right in this respect.

They would hope that Allah will guide them to the straight path, while unwilling to make any effort for getting guidance to it. What if somebody comes and begins beating a person, would he say this is the destiny of Allah or would he defend himself and take the necessary precautions to protect himself? However, the comparison stops there because they want to be like them only in the aspect of being rich.

They do not ask themselves: How did these companions earn their wealth? How did they spend it? How were their manners? How was their worship, their piety, their fear of Allah? Now, you probably know what major shirk is— for example praying to statues, invoking others than Allah and so on.

And you would never do this, right? However, there are other types of shirk which a lot of us slip into. Yet some of our actions show the opposite: some people gladly take a job which pays extremely well but which means they are not allowed to pray any of the prayers.

Some people commit suicide because they cannot have children, and this desire becomes their reason for being. The scholars have categorized shirk into different types: ash-shirk ul akbar major shirk , ash-shirk ul asghar minor shirk and ash-shirk ul khaafee hidden shirk.

This is a very broad topic and requires study, however to increase our productivity instantly we will look at some common daily life examples of shirk so you can learn how to avoid them. These people are sometimes called peers, saints, or awlyaa and their followers sometimes even invoke them. This is a form of major shirk and means you are ascribing to someone other than Allah something that only belongs to Allah, like Lordship, the sole right to be worshipped, and the divine names and attributes.

So, why we go to these graves and do this? So, we trust Allah only. And on that beautiful note from the Quran, I will say,. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.
